Backstreet Boys: The Backstreet Boys are synonymous with the boy band revolution of the mid-90's and early-2000's. They were the first, the highest selling, and some say the most popular boy band of their era, creating several hit albums, copious international tour dates, and fistfuls of awards. Even without the vocal talents of Kevin Richardson, the Backstreet Boys are still producing hit records and selling out tour dates all over the world. Now, Backstreet's back with a new concert for 2011, joining pop legends and boy band pioneers New Kids on the Block for tour dates world wide. Fans who would like to check out the tour dates might not want to look them up by Backstreet Boys or New Kids on the block, but rather NKOTBSB.

The Backstreet Boys formed in 1993 when A.J. McLean, Kevin Richardson, Brian Littrell, Nick Carter, and Howie Dorough answered an ad in the Orlando Sentinel for boy band auditions. The band was quickly signed to Jive records and their first self-titled album was released only in Europe and Asia, due to their success in the area. The album was later retooled and released in the US with additional tracks.

In the midst of a lawsuit with manager Lou Pearlman, the Backstreet Boys began recording their third album, Millennium. The album was an instant hit with over a million copies selling in the first week and the album topping the Billboard charts for 93 weeks. The album was the number one selling record of 1999 and eventually went platinum thirteen times. Their next album, Black and Blue, wasn't as huge as success as the first two, but still a success by normal standards by selling over 5 million copies internationally in the first week alone. At the start of 2001, the Backstreet Boys set up international tour dates for The Black and Blue Tour, which would span five continents. Shortly afterward, in 2002, the Backstreet Boys began having troubles with their management group and it prompted a break for the band.

After three years on hiatus, the band began to reform to work on their comeback album, Never Gone. The album took on a more serious tone and marked a sophistication for the Backstreet Boys as a band and individuals. Shortly after, Kevin Richardson left the band to pursue independent endeavors. This didn't stop the remaining members, and the Backstreet Boys released Unbreakable in 2007. Their latest album, This is Us, debuted in 2009 and marked the band's return to their upbeat dance songs fused with R&B. The album also marked a comeback of sorts for the band, showing that they could maintain their talent even with the loss of bandmate Kevin Richardson.

The remaining members of the Backstreet Boys are currently on a 2011 concert tour with the remaining members of New Kids On The Block. The concept was conceived when the two groups sung "I Want It That Way" at Radio City Music Hall in 2010, and the combined group will be singing hits from both bands on the tour dates. And as if that weren't enough, the group is also releasing a new album out soon, where fans can vote for which of the two bands' songs will make it on the record. However, fans hoping to get tickets for their 2011 concerts will have to act fast, as tickets in some cities have sold out in a matter of minutes.
