To honor the life and legacy of the late George Bengal, and to continue his work of ending animal cruelty, the Pennsylvania SPCA will host the 3rd Annual “A Night for George” on Thursday, May 17 from 6-9pm at the Philadelphia Cricket Club, 415 West Willow Grove Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19118.

The event, which will return to the Philadelphia Cricket Club’s beautiful outdoor setting, will include food, drinks, dancing, music, an auction, raffles and more to raise funds toward fulfilling George’s dying wish to continue the fight against animal cruelty throughout the state.

George Bengal, the PSPCA’s Director of Humane Law Enforcement from 2007 until the time of his death, spent 20 years advocating for animals and working to end cruelty and neglect. After receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis, he spent his final days ensuring that the fight against animal cruelty would continue after he was gone. George lost his life to cancer on June 18, 2016.

To honor George and his mission, the PSPCA created The George Bengal Fund to End Animal Cruelty. The PSPCA relies entirely on the generosity of donors to fund our work to fight animal cruelty. Dedicating nearly half of the annual budget to rescuing and rehabilitating animals, the PSPCA does not receive any state, local, or federal government funding for this life-saving work.
