Cradle Of Filth:
Cradle of Filth are a heavy metal band formed in Suffolk, England in 1991. They have been embraced and disowned with equal fervour by various metal communities, and their particular subgenre has provoked a great deal of discussion. The band's sound evolved from black metal to a cleaner and more "produced" amalgam of gothic metal, symphonic black metal and other extreme metal styles, while their lyrical themes and imagery are heavily influenced by gothic literature, poetry, mythology and horror films. The band have successfully broken free of their original niche by courting mainstream publicity (often to the chagrin of its early fanbase), and this increased accessibility has brought coverage by the likes of Kerrang! and MTV, frequent main stage appearances at major festivals such as Ozzfest and Download, and in turn a more "commercial" image. They have sometimes been perceived as satanic by casual observers, although their outright lyrical references to satanism are few and far between, and use of satanic imagery has arguably always had more to do with the shock value than any seriously-held beliefs. According to Metal Hammer magazine, they are the most successful British metal band since Iron Maiden.
James Blake: James Blake tour dates have been scheduled internationally in support of the Electro-pop musician's debut album. The British newcomer recently placed on BBC's Sound of 2011 as one of the year's anticipated break out stars and he will be touring extensively to prove them right.
Blake began his career by releasing underground EP's which blended British-pop and American-soul. it attracted the interest of BBC Radio 1 DJ, Giles Peterson, who invited him to record a mix of the songs off the EP. Blake then released a second EP, entitled "CMYK" which was released on indie techno label, R&S records. The single was an immediate club hit and it debuted at #47 on the UK Singles charts in November, 2010.
Blake was then named to BBC's Sound of 2011 short list where he arrived in second placed to The Vaccines. He also came in second place to Jessie J at the 2010 BRIT Awards' for Critics Choice and was finally awarded single of the year in January, 2011 for "CMYK" at Giles Peterson's Worldwide Awards.
With an increasingly visible spot in the limelight and attention from music critics and fans, Blake quickly hit the studio to record his first LP. Blake's self-titled debut was released on both sides of the Atlantic on February 7, 2011 and reached the top ten on the UK albums charts. The album featured the hit single, "Limit to Your Love," which charted across Europe and secured a top ten entry in Belgium and the Netherlands. Currently, his second single, "The Wilhelm Scream," is gaining spins on radio stations around the globe.
This newbie is quickly gaining attention from critics and new fans alike. Don't miss out on electro-pop's break-out star when he comes to your town. James Blake tour dates are currently scheduled across the United States and Europe throughout Summer, 2011.
