The Columbus, Ohio native began rapping in a local hip-hop group before signing to the Definitive Jux label. he released his debut album, Deadringer, in 2002. While the album didn't make an impact on the charts, the single "Ghostwriter", was heavily licensed out to Film and TV. He released Since We Last Spoke in 2004, which peaked at #128 on the Billboard 200 and The Third Hand in 2007, which peaked at #190. In 2009, RJD2 created his own label, RJ's Electrical Connections, and released his most recent solo album, The Colossus, in 2010.
